I am Claire Wyatt and I am a qualified Humanistic Integrative Psychotherapist and Counselling Psychologist in training (final year), working in Newark and the surrounding area.
I have successfully completed an MSc Psychology (Conversion) with Distinction with the University of Chester as well as a BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy with the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute in Nottingham (validated by Staffordshire University).
I am currently in my final year, studying on a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology with the University of Manchester due to complete in 2022.
I have been a practicing Humanistic Integrative therapist since 2014, as part of my degree and am a registered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
As a Humanistic Integrative therapist and as a human being, I believe in the human capacity for change and growth. I believe our experience shapes our humanity and from birth, our need for relationship is intrinsic.
Every person navigates their own path through life, a unique creation of the lived understanding of their experience.
I experience my clients holistically, noticing the emotional, physiological, psychological and spiritual life of the client, understanding that sometimes growth and change occurs simply through acceptance. I practice unconditional acceptance and non-judgement, with the belief that all human behaviour carries some meaning.
Kindness, empathy, compassion and respect underlies my relationship with clients.
